Cynon Valley’s Ann Clwyd MP and Vikki Howells AM have announced the winner of their Christmas card competition for 2017.
Top prize this year went to nine year old Kamil Kuhn, of Our Lady’s Roman Catholic Primary School, for his design based on the theme of ‘Your Favourite Christmas Carol’.
The competition was open to all Cynon Valley primary schools, and prizes were awarded at a special ceremony in Aberdare Library.
Other winners were:-
2nd place: Naomi Crystal Goodall – Our Lady’s RC Primary School
3rd place: Joseph Smith – Aberdare Park Primary School
Highly commended: Lewys Bevan – Cwmdar Primary School
Ann Clwyd MP said:-
“I have run a Christmas card competition for local primary school children since 2003, and I am glad to now be joined by Vikki in holding this event to celebrate the talent in our schools.
“As always, we were very impressed by the quality of the entries. It was a hard decision to pick a winner but we offer our congratulations to Kamil for his excellent winning design”.
Vikki Howells AM said:-
“The first placed entry will be used on Christmas cards Ann and I will sending out this December, and Kamil’s design was chosen from a wide range of impressive designs from schools throughout Cynon Valley.
“Ann and I want to place on the record our thanks to everyone who took the time to enter the competition, to library staff for hosting our prize-giving event and to the local businesses whose sponsorship made this possible”.
