Small businesses have a massive impact on our local economy here in Cynon Valley, helping build and sustain our communities. That is why I am delighted to promote ‘Small Business Saturday’ this Saturday 3rd December.
‘Small Business Saturday’ is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign, which highlights small business success and encourages consumers to ‘shop local’ and support small businesses in their communities by pledging to spend £10 in their local town.
This year ‘Small Business Saturday’ coincides with RCT Council’s Christmas Event in Aberdare town centre, which features a Christmas market, ski slope, funfair, petting zoo, Santa’s grotto and more. This is the perfect opportunity to encourage families to visit the town centre and to support their local traders whilst they are there.
I’m looking forward to visiting the high street in Aberdare this Saturday with my family, speaking to traders and picking up some Christmas gifts, as well as attending the free Cwm Cynon Nativity show at St Elvan’s Church which runs at 9.30am, 11.00am, 1.30pm and 3.00pm.
With free parking from 10am each day in Rhondda Cynon Taf town centres throughout December, there is even more of an incentive for residents to visit their town centre this Saturday and throughout the festive season.
I hope you will join me in supporting local business this Christmas and throughout the rest of the year.
