Weekly Round Up – 13th May

Please find below my latest weekly round up, containing some of my highlights from the past seven days.

CONSTITUENCY

  1. Met with Transport for Wales for an update on recent works on the Aberdare line.
  2. Discussion on how local history of the co-operative movement could be integrated into the new school curriculum in Cynon Valley.

SENEDD

  1. Asked the Economy Minister about Welsh Government support for tourism in the Valleys.
  2. Took evidence on agricultural pollution regulations as a member of the Senedd’s Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee.

WELSH GOVERNMENT

  1. Welsh Ministers have made calls for a UK-wide approach to building safety.
  2. The Climate Change Minister has set out plans to introduce a new law to manage the legacy of centuries of mining in Wales which put ‘community safety at the forefront.’
  3. A way forward for Senedd reform has been jointly published by the Leaders of Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru.
