Weekly Round Up – 18th March

Here is my latest round up, covering some highlights from the past week.

Constituency

  1. Attended official opening of TP Hearing clinic in Aberdare.
  2. Unveiling of Elaine Morgan statue in Mountain Ash (pictured above).
  3. Met with Natural Resources Wales to discuss Hirwaun flooding issues.
  4. Meeting with Minister for Economy to talk about local economic matters.

Senedd

  1. Questioned First Minister on Welsh Government skills policy.
  2. Spoke at Equal Power Equal Voice mentoring programme event to encourage greater diversity in public life.
  3. Chaired Cross-Party Group on Small Shops discussing the #ShopKind campaign and retail crime.
  4. At the Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee meeting, scrutinised the Ministers for Economy and Rural Affairs and took evidence on the UK-Australia Free Trade Agreement.

Welsh Government

  1. Additional funding for the Pupil Development Grant Access programme equivalent to £100 per eligible child in 2022/23 was announced.
  2. Welsh Government announces largest ever investment in flood protection.
  3. The Flying Start programme has been expanded in Wales.
  4. The Welsh Government announced how it will help children and young people aged 0 to 25 take part in free activities during the summer months.
