Weekly Round Up – 3rd December

Here are some of the things I’ve been doing as Member of the Senedd for Cynon Valley over the past seven days.

Constituency

1. Meeting with Transport for Wales to discuss engineering works affecting the Aberdare line.
2. Meeting with businesses in the hospitality sector to discuss Welsh Government support during the pandemic.
3. Virtual catch up with pupils at Aberdare Town Church in Wales School.

Senedd

1. Congratulations to Ysgol Gyfun Rhydywaun student Jack Lewis on his election as Member of the Welsh Youth Parliament for Cynon Valley.
2. Tabled Questions on peatlands and supporting small businesses.
3. Met with Welsh Local Government Association to discuss fair funding for councils.

Welsh Government

1. There has been an update on the Welsh Vaccination Strategy in line with the latest guidance from the JCVI.
2. Minister launches ‘Ending Homelessness Action Plan’ with new funding for private rented sector to play their part.
3. Changes to GP contract to improve access to appointments have been announced.
