Here is my round up of the past seven days, setting out some of the things I’ve been up to as Member of the Senedd for Cynon Valley.
Constituency
- Attended official opening of Caradog exhibit in Cynon Valley Museum.
- Visit to Cilfyndd a Phont Norton Ti a Fi Welsh-medium baby and toddler group.
- Held a street surgery in Cilfynydd.
Senedd
- Asked the Minister for Education how projects such as Pontypridd High School’s working with a charity to raise awareness of bowel cancer can be built into the new curriculum.
- Spoke about the 150th anniversary of Caradog and Cor Mawr winning the Challenge Cup.
- Chaired a meeting of the Industrial Communities Cross-Party Group that discussed coal tip safety with the Minister for Climate Change.
Welsh Government
- New planning laws, a statutory licensing scheme and proposals to change land transaction tax will be included in a package of measures to address second homes in Wales, the Welsh Government has said.
- First Minister Mark Drakeford has announced the new Bills to be introduced in Wales in the coming year
- The Chief Medical Officer for Wales is reminding people to follow simple steps to protect themselves from the risk of catching COVID-19.
