Please find below information on some of my highlights from the past seven days.
Constituency
- I was interviewed by local radio station GTFM. If you missed my interview, you can download it here.
- Visited Hirwaun RFC to meet members of the club and hear about how they are supporting the local community.
- Met with Citizens Cymru’s RCT Groupto discuss their campaigns for a Real Living Wage and Dignity for Care Workers.
- Attended the unveiling of the newest defibrillator in Cynon Valley, at Mary’s Chip Shop in the Tynte.
Senedd
- I asked the Economy Minister about Welsh Government support for the retail sector in Wales.
- I questioned the Health Minister on how Welsh Government is working to improve digital systems within the Welsh NHS.
- I was pleased to be elected as a member of the Senedd’s Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee, which will scrutinise policy areas such as business, economic development, skills, international trade, agriculture and food. Follow our work here.
- I was re-elected asChair of the Welsh Labour Senedd Group, a position I am proud to have held since 2017.
Welsh Government
- The Welsh Government published details of its legislative priorities for the next twelve months.
- The Education Minister provided an update on the next steps to be taken in terms of curriculum reform within the school system.
- There was a statement from the Climate Change Minister on second homes and the affordability of housing.
- Extra funding was announced for Save a Life Cymru to help improve survival rates for people who have suffered cardiac arrests.
